Tony, Sam, George, Molly, Danielle and the Newfoundlands look forward to welcoming you to their beautiful self catering cottage in Denby Dale, Yorkshire. We all feel very passionate about the surrounding area and cottage and would love other people to enjoy it as much as we do.
Our mission is to give our visitors that feel of luxury whilst at the same time allowing you to experience the heart of a friendly country setting. Whether your aim is to come for a well-deserved, peaceful, relaxing break to recharge your battery or to experience some of the local activities that are in abundance, rest assured Broomfield Cottage will hit the mark.
We want you to feel at home, so should you wish to introduce yourself to our extended family of horses and dogs don’t hesitate to ask. Things to do around Broomfield Cottage
You’ll be spoilt for choice for walking routes…
Take a scenic stroll around nearby reservoirs; Ingbirchworth and Scout Dyke, or take a drive to Langsett for a slightly more challenging loop (and a pie at the Waggon and Horses while you’re there!). On your doorstep is The Trans Pennine Trail (TPT) – a popular and beautiful route for walkers, cyclists and horse riders alike. The TPT is a great way to explore the countryside for an afternoon stroll or a longer hike taking you into the Peak District.
If you’d like a bit of open air art to admire while you’re walking, you will find the Yorkshire Sculpture Park just a short drive away.
Artisan ice creams and Delicious meals at Yummy Yorkshire
Sample some of Yummy Yorkshire’s delicious artisan ice cream is made on site on the family dairy farm. Take a trip to Cannon Hall Farm where you can meet the animals, take a walk around the grounds, grab a bite to eat in the cafe or shop for fresh local produce in their farm shop.
If you’re coming from a little further afield you might want to take a day trip to the fabulous stately home Chatsworth House (around an hour away) where you can take a tour of the house and grounds – they hold some great events throughout the year including their horse trials in May and Christmas Markets.
